The beginning of a New Year is the perfect time for a healthy and fit new start, but the cold, dark weather doesn't make it easy to stay motivated.

 

J Fitness is here to help, with the

Step into 2025 Challenge!

 

What is it?

  • A daily step count challenge.

 

Why?

  • Winter months make it way too easy to sit at your desk a little longer, sleep a little later, and get to the couch a little earlier at the end of the day.
  • From Monday, January 13th through Thursday, February 13th, J Fitness will challenge you to reach a certain number of steps per day.
  • Taking 10,000 steps a day (approximately 5 miles), on top of your regular fitness routine, will not only help you reach your health and fitness goals but also….
  • Improve your sleep
  • Clear your mind
  • Decrease anxiety and depression
  • Reduce risk of heart attack
  • Improve blood pressure

 

How do I track my steps?

  • Some of you may have smart watches that keep track of your steps. For those that don’t, there are a number of FREE phone apps that record your steps for you and there is always the option of an old school pedometer.

 

Sign me up!

  • Sign-ups begin on Tuesday, January 7th, at the front desk. Not in town that week? Email info@thejfitness.com and we will add your name to the challenge.

 

How do I win?

  • In the lobby of J Fitness, there will be a tracking board to record your steps. Can’t make it to The J? No problem! Record your steps the next time you are in or email info@thejfitness.com and we will write them down for you.

 

  • Members who reach the step goal challenge of 349,000 steps (or more!), will be entered into a raffle to win one of our fabulous prizes, announced on Monday, February 17th. 

 

  • You do not need to be present to win.
