What is it?
· A daily step count challenge.
Why?
· Winter months make it way too easy to sit at your desk a little longer, sleep a little later, and get to the couch a little earlier at the end of the day.
· From Monday, January 8 through Tuesday, February 6, J Fitness will challenge you to reach a certain number of steps per day.
· Taking 10,000 steps a day (approximately 5 miles), on top of your regular fitness routine, will not only help you reach your health and fitness goals but also….
· Improve your sleep
· Clear your mind
· Decrease anxiety and depression
· Reduce risk of heart attack
· Improve blood pressure
How do I track my steps?
· Some of you may have smart watches that keep track of your steps. For those that don’t, there are a number of FREE phone apps that record your steps for you and there is always the option of an old school pedometer.

· Sign-ups begin on Tuesday, January 2, at the front desk. Not in town that week? Email info@thejfitness.com and we will add your name to the challenge.
How do I win?
· In the lobby of J Fitness, there will be a tracking board to record your steps. Can’t make it to The J? No problem! Record your steps the next time you are in or email info@thejfitness.com and we will write them down for you.
· Members who reach the step goal challenge of 328,500 steps (or more!), will be entered into a raffle to win one of our fabulous prizes, announced on Saturday, February 10. You do not need to be present to win.
